Actually, everyone’s welcome here. That’s just a country thing. But lovers of food (and wine) will be well served in the Echuca area. We’re in the heart of the Riverina Murray food bowl, after all. There’s been a bit of a foodie frenzy over the last decade, as more cafes, specialty stores, boutique local producers and quality restaurants have become established. When it comes to beverages, we have two distinct wine regions, each with their own distinctive flavour profiles. As well as opportunities to experience craft breweries, a gin distillery. Which will go well with some artisan local produce.

The Echuca community is well-serviced with local shops as well as the big names. There’s specialty stores, boutiques and markets like the Echuca Farmers Market for fresh fruit and veg, plus plenty of options for you to stock up on everyday essentials. You can also hunt for local treasures to take Pride of Place in your new home at Yallarah. For lifestyle pursuits and river adventures, you could definitely be spending some time at Eades Xtreme Marine or Echuca Camping store. As you’d expect, there are big brand retailers such as Coles, Woollies and yes, there’s a Bunnings nearby.

Finding the school that fits your child can be quite a task. A sporting tradition.
Being active and outdoors has long been a tradition in Echuca. The McSwain family, who helped settle the area, had a love of sport that resulted in the formation of the Echuca West Cricket and Tennis Club in the 1800s. Today, sport and recreation are still a big part of living in Echuca and there are many open spaces and existing sporting and recreation facilities and programs. The Echuca community places a high value on these assets and they are well supported with current and future planning.
